Europe – Designer Konstantin Grcic has created Hack, an adaptable office cubicle for the start-up generation.

  • Hack is one unit designed to fulfil many different requirements
  • It’s a simple, ecologically friendly and cheap solution for office spaces

The modular cubicles are made from lightweight, portable materials, making them easy to move around the office to suit the ever-changing needs of employees. Grcic, who trained as a cabinet-maker, says that Hack’s rough and ready aesthetic will appeal to young start-ups, which constantly demand new uses from their space.

Hack’s adjustable work surface enables employees to sit or stand, and can be lowered completely, turning into a sofa. ‘The system reflects the attitude of companies that similarly define themselves in terms of constant change,’ says a spokesperson for Vitra, which worked with Grcic on the development of Hack.

The Big Picture
